The Berchtesgaden National Park is now accessible to up to 1.6 million visitors annually through a sophisticated 3D map, providing a comprehensive depiction of its remarkable high mountain landscape. This resource showcases approximately 260 kilometers of well-maintained hiking trails and alpine routes, embedding crucial geographical information within its features. The app includes an accurate location function that allows users to ascertain their exact position at any moment. A seamless transition between the 3D map, topographic map, and aerial view enhances usability.

This app transforms the unique experience of Germany's sole Alpine National Park, presenting ten carefully curated excursion destinations alongside 38 suggested tours—encompassing hikes, biking, snowshoeing, skiing, and accessible routes. Additionally, the app offers guidance on appropriate behavior within this protected area and provides access to multiple webcams for real-time views of the national park.

A notable feature is the "Virtual Panorama," which enables users to engage with a 360° panorama from various locations. This immersive component is enriched with contextual information such as mountain names, elevations, and nearby points of interest such as dining options.

Tracking

The newly introduced tracking tool allows users to document their adventures within the park. Once activated, it accurately displays one's position, distance traveled, duration of the tour, and current altitude, thus aiding navigation throughout the national park.

Events

The app provides information on various events ranging from guided tours in marmot habitats to cross-border hikes along historic smuggler paths into Austria's Weißbach Nature Park. It also includes ranger-led excursions, offering visitors an engaging educational program while facilitating an extraordinary adventure experience.
